GOURMET GETAWAY - 5th service
Dolbeau-Mistassini, February 8, 2010 - The CLD Maria-Chapdelaine and MRC Maria-Chapdelaine, together with eight restaurants in the MRC, are pleased to announce the return of the event "a gastronomic adventure.
The event, now in its fifth edition, aims to express the reputation of our restaurants and skill of our chefs. The event will take place on Saturday 13 and March 20, 2010, eight restaurants in the MRC:
- Auberge du Centre touristique Lac-à-Jim, Saint-Thomas-Didyme
- Centre plein air Lac des Coudes, Girardville
- La Table du Monastère, Dolbeau-Mistassini
- Note Café Bistro, Dolbeau-Mistassini
- Restaurant Chez Malou, Albanel
- Restaurant Chez Russel, Saint-Stanislas
- Restaurant Le Kastelet, Girardville
- Resto 3F, Dolbeau-Mistassini
It is the second best year in Gourmet Getaway in terms of participation with eight restaurants in 2010. The 2008 edition had met nine.
For the third consecutive year, our local products are featured. Potatoes La Patate Lac-Saint-Jean of Péribonka and spices from the Coopérative Forestière Girardville will be honored in all tables to host our restaurant. The chefs will use a total of 825 pounds of potatoes and 2.72 kilograms of spices. This represents a contribution of $ 500 sponsorship of La Patate Lac-Saint-Jean and $ 5 850 of the Coopérative Forestière Girardville.
The table d'hote four departments of our leaders is available at prices affordable for the quality of menus offered, ranging from $ 24.95 to $ 34.95. It must be remembered that the idea behind this event is to create a gourmet tour based on taste and not on cost.
As highlighted by the President of the CLD Maria-Chapdelaine, Georges Simard, "one of the major concerns of the UNCCD is to create and / or retain jobs in our MRC. With an activity such as the Gourmet Getaway, the population of Maria-Chapdelaine can discover or rediscover the restaurants in our area and thus promote local purchasing, and thereby maintain our services and our jobs. "
The promotional poster will be displayed in participating restaurants this week and over the next weeks in various locations across the MRC Maria-Chapdelaine. The menus of the 2010 edition of the Gourmet Getaway can be viewed now on the website of the CLD Maria-Chapdelaine at www.cldmaria.qc.ca. Those interested in participating in the event that either partner, family, friends or work colleagues, are reserved to the restaurant of their choice.
In four years, more than 2 600 meals were served. This event has had indirect benefits for the businesses of our communities.
The Prefect of the MRC Maria-Chapdelaine, Jean-Pierre Boivin, said that every year, "MRC adopts a territorial action plan under the National Policy on Rurality in order to maintain mobilizing projects already in place and also allow the entry of new projects. The Gourmet Getaway is a beautiful example of concerted activity that integrates well with territorial action plan of the MRC. "
For the fifth year, the gastronomic escapade is made possible by the Fund rurality MRC Maria-Chapdelaine for $ 2 000 $ on a total budget of just over $ 9 000.
